Space in our time: a project about the exploration of all that is space and how it is expressed in music.

Programs

Inspired by the April 2024 Solar eclipse and a quest for music intertwined with celestial phenomena, I initiated a call for scores, inviting composers to submit pieces that encapsulate the essence of space in music.

The response has been overwhelming, with works reflecting diverse perspectives and innovative approaches.

The Space In Our Time project's inaugural recital program, Of Shadows On the Stars, showcases a selection of these submissions, with all other programs featuring additional pieces selected from this repertoire.

  • Space In Our Times : Photography, Music, and AI

Presentation, Music, and Round Table Discussion with Prof. Adam Lampton

The Space In Our Times project pioneers a groundbreaking approach by utilizing AI commercially available tools to craft captivating visual essays. For over a century, the synergy between music and imagery has been undeniable, often with the image taking precedence while music provides vital emotional depth. However, this project challenges conventional norms by exploring avenues to shift this paradigm. Instead of the image dominating the listening experience, the project aims to harness the power of visuals to enrich and complement the music, fostering a deeper emotional connection for the audience. Through this endeavor, Space in Our Times aims to redefine the relationship between music and image, creating a truly immersive and evocative artistic experience.
